First Edition Book, Old World Iowans, Ethnic/Cultural Studies
$29.95
Vintage book, First Edition. "Old World Iowans: Transplanted Europeans Loyal Americans In Iowa."
Author is Elaine Joy Anderson and published by Klipto Loose Leaf Company in Mason City, Iowa.
The book is not dated, but the preface mentions "these first 100 years" of Iowa history, which would make the publishing date 1946-7. As a post-war book, it is an attempt to counter the discrimination towards immigrants or cultural groups. Very relevant to today's climate! Discusses 20 different ethnic/religious/cultural groups in specific towns, from American Indians and Negroes to Mormons, Jews, and Amish, to a wide range of European countries.
Hardcover book shows a tiny bit of staining on the front cover and again on the back cover, otherwise the book is in good condition. Tight spine, pages are bright.
Book is 9.25" by 7" by 5/8". 190 pages.

As always, buy more than one item from my shop and I'll combine the shipping. I don't make a profit on shipping like some sellers do. Etsy's calculator doesn't do well with combined shipments, however, so you may get a partial refund of shipping charges after you pay for your order.
Keep in mind that many of my items are one-of-a-kind, and I have local customers looking at them. If you buy something that has just sold locally and wasn't yet removed, the order will be cancelled and your full payment returned to you, unless I have a similar item in stock. You can always contact me before your purchase to confirm the item is still available.
